Kenji ist beim "TransEurope-FootRace" von Lissabon nach Spanien und von Deutschland bis Moskau mitgelaufen. Gesundheitliche Probleme zwangen ihn leider zu einer Auszeit. Er kam dennoch auf 2.233 km. 1. Platz beim "Trans Ezo Journey Run" über 555 km in 7 Tagen. 2. Platz beim "Trans Tohoku Journey Run" über 660 km in 7 Tagen. Kenji läuft erst seit 1993. Weitere erfolgreiche Läufe: 305 km in 52:31 Std. - 1. Platz, 267 km in 36:26 - 2. Platz. 2002 "Spartathlon" über 246 km in 32:47 Std. 2001 "Western States Trail" 160 km in 29:03 Std.
